Family Support
Providing practical and emotional support to families
At LJWB, we understand the vital role families play in the wellbeing of children. Our services are designed to provide a supportive environment for families and their children.
Our Services
Being a parent can be the most rewarding job in the world, but at times it can be very, very hard. At LJWB we provide a family support service that provides practical and emotional support to children and their parents during the difficult times. This may be as a result of financial pressures, relationship difficulties, behavioural issues at home or school or because a child/ children have a special educational need or disability.
One to One Support
We understand that every family and every child is unique and recognise the vital role families play in increasing wellbeing and resilience in children. We support families with children aged 0-18, working with parents as well as children, by providing ongoing one to one emotional and practical support, and/or short-term focused interventions.
Family Play Sessions
Playing is a natural and enjoyable way for children to learn, develop, keep active, stay well and be happy. Our daily family play sessions which are aimed at families with children 0-5 years are held in our well-equipped, dedicated, playroom. Providing exciting activities as well as child-led play, our sessions provide children and their families the opportunity to learn, grow, socialise with others and create lasting memories.
Children and Young People Group Activities
We run after-school activities, where small groups of children can meet and enjoy a variety of arts and crafts in a nurturing and supportive environment.
During school holidays we also organise and deliver a range of provision, as well as inclusive play sessions for the whole family, and special one-off events.
Support for children with Special Educational Needs
All our groups and activities are fully inclusive as we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our skilled team can also provide one-to-one support to families who have a child or children who may need additional support to thrive in their educational journey. We can help provide support, guidance and resources to support children and their families overcome challenges and foster a sense of achievement and confidence.
If your child has a disability or any additional needs such as sensory sensitivities, mobility challenges, communication difficulties, or accessibility requirements – please contact us ahead of your visit.
This allows us to understand their unique needs and do our best to make reasonable adjustments, to ensure they feel comfortable, supported, and able to enjoy the very best of what LJWB has to offer. Your child’s wellbeing and experience is our top priority.
