The Senior Leadership Team
The Leadership Team is responsible for ensuring that LJWB delivers the best possible support services to the community and leads on the delivery of the strategic goals of the organisation.
Elizabeth Bradbury
Elizabeth is a highly qualified and experienced Director and Board level executive with public, charity, faith and independent sector organisations.
Liz has over thirty years’ experience in social, education and health service and her heart lies in supporting people to achieve their potential. Liz feels honoured and blessed to hold the position of CEO at the LJWB and is committed to supporting the community.
Outside of work Elizabeth is married to Nigel, and loves to spend time with her family and friends and escaping to Italy whenever possible.
Szczepan Swiatkowski
Szczepan has worked for LJWB for 4 years and was recently promoted to the Senior Leadership Team. Szczepan holds Level 7 of CIPD and has been awarded a Chartered Membership of CIPD.
Szczepan has responsibility for the People Plan across the whole of the organisation which includes employee wellbeing, development, recruitment, employee relations, engagement, diversity and inclusion and any change programmes.
Szczepan also looks after the organisation’s Facilities Team and provides guidance for Facilities and Contracts Management.
In his free time, Szczepan enjoys long distance running, cooking – trying new recipes and traveling.
Karen Crowther
Karen has spent her career in finance, spanning both the private and voluntary sectors. For the past 15+ years, she has thrived in senior leadership roles, excelling in inclusive leadership and earning the title of "spreadsheet guru" for her ability to streamline processes and enhance procedures. Karen has a keen commercial eye and specifically brings 7 years experience working as Director of Finance in a charity local to her home. Karen is passionate about teamwork and fostering collaborative environments. Outside of work, Karen has one adult daughter, enjoys nothing more than getting lost in a good murder mystery and cherishes quality time with her family.
Maggie Wardle
With extensive and diverse experience across both large and small commercial organisations, Maggie brings a wealth of expertise to her multifaceted role at the Leeds Jewish Welfare Board. Having held senior positions such as Operations Director at a domiciliary care company and General Manager at a high-quality event management and catering business, Maggie is recognised for her exceptional organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement. As Head of Business Services, Maggie oversees the operational efficiency and quality of the organisation, working collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to drive service excellence, optimise processes, and manage resources effectively. Maggie is married to David who shares her passion for sunshine, holidays and good food but not her commitment to Bradford City Football Club!
Emma Falk
Emma’s career has been a rich and rewarding journey spanning over 30 years in social care and criminal justice. With an MA in Criminology and Social Work from Sheffield University, she has dedicated her life to supporting children, families, and adults facing multiple and complex challenges. From frontline practice to leadership roles, she has worked across both statutory and third-sector organisations, always driven by a passion for making a positive difference and supporting staff wellbeing. Her adventurous spirit took her to New Zealand, where she spent several years working and traveling before returning to the UK. Now settled in Leeds with her husband, Adam, she has embraced the vibrant culture and stunning landscapes of Yorkshire. With their two children recently leaving home, Emma finds joy in exploring the countryside, soaking in the region’s diversity, and connecting with its friendly community. Beyond her professional life, Emma’s passions keep her on the move. She’s an avid traveller, a keen gardener, and a lover of salsa and ceroc dancing. But perhaps her most devoted companion is Perry, her lovable (and slightly mad) Chocolate Labrador, who ensures there’s never a dull moment when she’s outdoors.
