A few short stories from the people behind our services
Why is our community centre so important ?
Social Isolation is at the root of many of our community’s difficulties.
As people spend more time in front of screens and people live to an older age we are seeing a dramatic increase in the number of people feeling lonely, forgotten and lost.
Social Isolation causes an increase in mental health issues, depression, increased anxiety, increased anti-social behaviour and negatively affects medical issues which of course affects the entire community.
Social isolation does not only affect older people, but teenagers and young adults can also find themselves very isolated and in need of real human interaction.
While we offer services to support people with mental difficulties, physical disabilities and other specific challenges, we strongly believe that by running a friendly community centre in the heart of our community we can support our services by addressing social isolation directly.
At the MAZCC we try to address social isolation as part of our daily programme. By offering classes and activities for people of all ages, the opportunity to meet up with friends or the chance to have a kosher meal alongside others we create many opportunities for human interaction.
By supporting the MAZCC you are helping us to remain a vibrant and healthy community with a safe space for all to use. Your support will ensure that the MAZCC remains an important force in shaping our community for generations to come.
With your support we can keep the lights on at the MAZCC together.
The community thanks you for your kind support.
