AWARDS FOR ALL
A three-day training course took place for staff to learn the in-depth technique which helps voice hearers understand and accept their voices, which are often linked to past trauma, rather than resent and repress them. Leeds Mind staff also attended this training course which has resulted in a new Hearing Voices Support Group being launched in partnership.

TERRY & LIZ BRAMALL FOUNDATION
LD community support worker – The Liz and Terry Bramall Foundation grant funded the time of our Activities Coordinator to focus on social and creative activities for service users with Learning Disabilities who live in our community. These activities have increased the confidence and independence of service users as well as reducing loneliness and social isolation as they have increased opportunities to attend fun classes, events and outings, while socialising with others in a similar situation.

LEEDS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
For the Communications project we received funding from an anonymous donor via Leeds Community Foundation to run a Communications Project for older people. This enabled us to buy laptops and specialist equipment and run a series of ‘Silver Surfer’ basic weekly computer classes. A team of students volunteer at these well received sessions with content service-user led. This has increased the ability of older people to communicate in the modern world reducing loneliness and social isolation.
