At LJWB we provide family support which focuses on providing practical help and emotional support to families who are struggling. This could be due to a wide range of factors including financial challenges, behavioural difficulties displayed by children at home or school, or because a child/children have a special educational need or disability. We support families with children aged 0-18 and deliver 1-to-1 interventions with school-age children.
Within our team we have expertise in early years, special education needs and disabilities, and behavioural or social difficulties. Whether you need someone to advocate on your behalf, help you access additional services, or just need a point of advice and support, we can help. In addition, with the support from the other teams at LJWB (for example adult wellbeing) or Leeds Jewish Housing Association, we can connect parents/carers with other support.
Alongside one-to-one support, the Manny Cussins Family Project offers play sessions and groups to support pregnant mothers, new babies and parents/carers with children aged 0-5. We provide activities which support your child’s development in a safe and fun environment. All of our activities are inclusive, but if you want to know more about activities designed for children with additional or special educational needs, then please see information on our ‘Inclusive Activities’.
