LJWB to Support 16 Days of Action Against Abuse

The 16 Days of Action is an international campaign to end violence against women, running from Friday 25th November (the International Day to End Violence against Women) until Saturday 10th December.

On the 25th November we will have a stall with information on Domestic Violence & Abuse at the MAZCC from 10.30 am – 1pm. We will also have a room available to allow us to talk privately with anyone who requires any support or advice.

We have also put secure post boxes in the ground floor toilets (male, female, accessible and baby change) where people can discreetly request a call from a support worker. These boxes will be officially in use from Friday.

Free Hypnobirthing Sessions

LJWB are delighted to be able to offer a Hypnobirthing course for pregnant women and their partners.

Teacher Shelley Peel is a Hypnobirthing teacher trained by Katharine Graves of KG Hypnobirthing; the training course is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives.

Shelley is excited to offer a FREE, no obligation, one hour taster session for KG Hypnobirthing so you can meet her and learn how it could benefit you and your partner.

Our in depth antenatal sessions teach you a range of techniques including relaxation and specific breathing exercises to use during labour, so you can look forward to your baby’s birth without fear and anxiety.

In Celebration of Learning Disability Week

In Celebration of Learning Disability Week 20-24 June

Join us on….Wednesday 22nd June, 7.30 – 9pm @ the MAZCC for a talk with Conner Jones, Senior Support Worker at Lynda Cohen House, our residential home for the learning disabled. Conner will discuss breaking down stereotypes surrounding learning disabilities.  Conner will provide a thought provoking and informative session demonstrating what it means to have a learning disability. Party with us on… Friday 24th June, 12noon – 3pm @ the MAZCC at our ‘Celebration of Success’ 
David Poyser, a resident at Lynda Cohen House will compare the event. Three stalls run by service users will demonstrate their successes, and showcase a bit about themselves and their lives. The stands will be Communication, Inclusion and Personalisation.
In addition, Service Users will give short talks to provide an insight into what they do on a daily basis.
Lunch included – £10 donation
