We have been very busy and have had lots of fun at LJWB during Purim. Four fabulous Purim parties were held last week enabling staff, service users and all ages of the community to join in with the celebrations.
Our family Pre-Purim party was attended by over 100 children & their familes, raising £750 for learning disabilities. Child openers were Lily & Sophie Silverman.
As part of our Wellbeing services we held a community Purim party. There were over 100 guests including our friends from the Irish Centre. There was a musical entertainer, afternoon tea and Israeli dancing.
The 3rd party was for pre-school children and their parents/carers. 55 adults & children enjoyed a Purim party with traditional Purim snacks, festive Purim songs and a short session by ‘Pyjama Drama.’ All the children wore their finest fancy dress costumes.
Staff, service users & trustees at LJWB also enjoyed the Purim festivities, all dressed up they listened to Chazan Alby Chait, dressed as Peppa Pig read the Megillah! Rattles were shaken and you could hear cries of ‘boo’ as Haman’s name was said. Traditional Hamantaschen was eaten & fun was had by all.
