Community Engagement

LJWB works hard to form strong and enduring links with the local community to let you know what support we can offer, to understand and respond to the community’s needs, to publicise our work and to engage your support in supporting our community.

This year we continued to foster our relationship with you, holding our 10th Annual Art Award, first Volunteering Awards and engaging with local schools, voluntary and community organisations, public and private companies and  statutory bodies,

The Jewish Community is not immune to loneliness but we are very fortunate to have the Marjorie and Arnold Ziff Community Centre at heart of our community.  ‘Some people seek solitude but few choose to be lonely primarily because it isn’t good for us.’  The Centre offers community services and wellbeing activities and, in addition offers many opportunities to those who feel lonely and isolated, to socialise and be part of the community.

Our new Arnie & Essie helpline is now available for advice, support and guidance when you need it most.  The helpline will be manned until 8pm every weekday and an on-call service will operate at weekends.  The helpline is there to offer support to people of all ages, whatever their issues, from across our community.
