On Sunday August 5th 2018 Singing for Pleasure are presenting a concert in memory of the late Deborah Judah. For many years now Singing for Pleasure has performed at the MAZCC on an annual basis raising funds for both the MAZCC and other worthy charities. This year we are hoping to raise funds for both the MAZCC and CHAI cancer care, a charity very close to Deborah’s heart.
It was Deborah’s wish to have a room dedicated to CHAI in Leeds where families who are afflicted by this awful disease could go to chat or undergo alternative therapies with members of this wonderful organisation. As many of Deborah’s friends and family will recall this young woman was a brave and determined lady who managed to raise a large sum of money with her father Melvyn and others by doing a sky dive to help others suffering from this awful disease.
This year we are performing a selection of new and old songs from our repertoire at the MAZCC on Sunday August 5th from 7.30pm. As well as the choir doing a vibrant and enjoyable programme of songs there will be performances by Elaine Green on violin, Barney Tabor our accompanist and Morton Shapero on harmonica.
This year we are hoping to raise a record amount of money for two extremely worthy causes. Please come and help us achieve this.
Tickets can be obtained from the MAZCC or Susan Da Costa on 07875 121629.
