Volunteer awards

During national volunteers week we gave a huge thank you to all of our 240 fabulous volunteers at the first LJWB Volunteering Awards.

LJWB Volunteer Awards recognise and celebrate the significant achievements and lasting impact our volunteers make to our community. We wouldn’t be here without our volunteers. Our organisation was started by a volunteer almost 140 years ago, and today they’re more important to us than ever. This year we know we have worked with hundreds of volunteers to make everything we do both inside the centre and outside in the community run smoothly. We want to recognise everyone at the awards who have a part to play in the fantastic work our volunteers do.

At our 2015 Volunteer Awards the wonderful achievements of all our volunteers were celebrated in style with a delicious afternoon tea in presence of the Lord Mayor Judith Chapman.

Several volunteers won awards in specific categories in 2015:

Outstanding and lasting contribution to volunteering – James Denton

Gone the extra mile in 12 months – Melvyn Sumroy

Volunteers’ volunteer award – Sara Saunders

Client/customer award – Sophie Berson

Behind the scenes award – LJWB Counselling Team

Fundraising award – Lloyd Rakusen

Join us for our second annual Volunteer Awards on 3rd June

At the awards ceremony last year we recognised people for their lasting involvement, their behind the scenes work, their dedication to an event and more. This year, we would like you to nominate any volunteers you want – every nomination will get recognised, and every volunteer will be thanked. You can nominate yourselves, but by no means stop there, do please get your friends and families to nominate volunteers to make this year the biggest and best celebration yet. All nominations must be received by 19th May. The award ceremony will take place on 3rd June @ the MAZCC.
