Fundraising

There are so many ways to fundraise for Leeds Jewish Welfare Board. Take a look at all of the information below.

In light of the financial climate, the decrease in funding and the increasing needs of the Community, fundraising has never been more of a priority for The Board and we are always on the lookout for new and innovative ways to raise money.

Equally as important is our need to increase our network of people who can give us their time and/or contacts that in turn could help us increase our income. If you can help us in our fundraising drive we would love to hear from you – please call the Fundraising team on 0113 218 5848.

SET UP YOUR OWN COMMITTEE

We have several committees who hold events throughout the year – coffee mornings, bridge events, dance shows, etc.   If you would like to set up your own committee to organise an event, then please contact our Fundraising Team on 0113 2185848.

Some examples of our recent events include ‘Pop up Restaurant’, Chanukathon, 1 in 4 Dinner, Dame Stephanie Shirley, Laurence Marks and Dance Academy.

TAKE PART IN A CHALLENGE

Every year people raise money for LJWB by taking part in challenge events both in the UK and abroad.

LJWB are asking you to Challenge yourself in 2016 and help raise much needed funds for LJWB who are offering an exciting range of sponsored events for all ages and abilities. Challenges are a fantastic way for you to try something new and take yourself out of your comfort zone.

The challenges team will be able to assist you with whatever you need to ensure that you reach your fundraising target whether that is motivational emails or letters sent on your behalf to potential sponsors.  Once the challenge has been completed not only will you have a massive sense of achievement but you will have helped support LJWB, a vital resource in our community.

LJWB’s dream team Lloyd, Ilan, Mark, Monica, Bradley, Adam, Vikki, Elissa, Liz and Meirav are running the Tel- Aviv Samsung Marathon in February 2016.

This is the first time a Leeds charity team is undertaking this challenge, training through the Yorkshire Winter and running in the Israeli Spring….

The team is a combination of top marathon runners and first timers (AKA couch potatoes) who are all passionate about the work of LJWB in support of people with mental health problems, learning disabilities, older people and families in crisis.
