Time to Celebrate

There aren’t many charities with such a proud history as ours, going back an incredible 140 years!

The 140 year celebrations will officially kick off on 1 April. We have an exciting programme of events to mark this special birthday:

The 140 Play is being written and produced by Leeds playwright, Brian Daniels, who has already started researching some of the local memories of LJWB and the stories of real people. We are also in the process of producing The 140 Video, a short film relaying the journey of LJWB, which will be shown at the 140 Dinner with guest speaker, Michael Portillo, on 7 May.  We will also reveal at the Dinner a 140 Exhibition and Memory Wall.  We are collecting memories/experiences of the community’s association with the Board so if you would like to share your thoughts with us, and have not yet done so, please contact Victoria.sandler@ljwb.co.uk  / 0113 218 5893.

Watch this space for further details of our 140 themed Art Award, Volunteer Awards and Fundraising Challenge….

We look forward to sharing our special year with you.
